About Through the Maze
A guide to developing advocacy services for young people experiencing emotional or mental health issues
Mental health problems among children and young people have risen substantially in the UK in the past 50 years. This has presented an increasing need, challenging services to respond in ways that suit the lives of young people today. Through the Maze shows how advocacy can help us meet this difficult challenge.
Its aim is to inspire and guide the development of effective advocacy service provision for young people with emotional or mental health issues. It is intended as a practical resource with an abundance of ideas, best practice and online support materials that can be used as they are or adapted as required.

We help young people age 6-19 in Somerset and Cardiff to get their views heard on issues affecting their emotional or mental wellbeing. Our service is free, independent and confidential.
