How to help young people get an advocate
As a significant adult, there are many ways you can help young people to access our service:
- Call us and find out what we could do to help someone in their situation. Then talk to them about it. We can send you a flyer to show them if you like.
- Help them to send us a message via our get an advocate page
- Fill out a request for advocacy form with them – this could be with them writing it with your help or you writing what they want you to say. However you do it is important that they know what you have written and have agreed to it.
- Help them to call us, maybe with you speaking first if they feel nervous.
Whichever way you help them it’s important that they understand what kind of service we offer before requesting an advocate, and that they have given their consent!
Please only send us additional information if they have consented to you doing so.
